Restaurants in Makarska offer a wide range of domestic dishes, beautiful views and pleasant hosts, but here we managed to narrow the list to top 5 using our experiences and combination of user reviews on different places alongside the coast of Makarska riviera.

Mala Mare Inn in Brist

Mala Mare is a restaurant that will instantly make you feel like home. Situated right next to Adriatic coast with its plaid tablecloths, wooden tables, sweet flowerpots, lots of postcards with distant wishes hanging on the bar and terrific view, it lures for a super relaxing summer dinner. You can take delight in adriatic dishes, pleasant hosts, daily specials or big portions of eco food. Perfect reviews on their social accounts sound somewhat like this: “nejlepší křečka v Chorvatsku”; “Leckere Fischplatte gegessen”; “thank you for the delicious fish and pancake dessert” and so on and so forth. Well, if Croatian pop stars come back to dine here, we believe you should try it out too! 🙂

Restaurant King in Baška Voda

Restaurant King might be one of the best restaurants in Makarska. With its elegant and modern interior and lively atmosphere, it even offers wine tasting, where you definitely won’t get disappointed. Wide range of fish dishes and lobsters, octopuses, scallops and mussels are served with lovely heartsease flowers on top. We couldn’t find a single review with a grade less than 4 on their social media, and watching those delicious photos really got us drooling. Well, we do know why it’s called the King restaurant, hope you’re gonna find out too.

Restaurant Don Antonio in Makarska

Restaurant Don Antonio combines light Italian cuisine with Croatian Adriatic menu and the outcome is perfect. While you are waiting for your food you can try their domestic olive oil, homemade wine, sherry, and you’ll soon realize that everything else is super delicious and authentic in this restaurant. It has a lovely stone terrace with flowerpots and excellent reviews by almost hundred visitors. Black risotto, frutti di mare, lobster, octopus, caviar would all make you crave for more, but our favorite is tuna with orange and pepper.

Restaurant and Wine Bar Matrioska in Baška Voda

Whoever visited restaurant Matrioska once, comes back again. Ideal combination of lovely romantic atmosphere and beautiful views makes this place amazing, along with enchanting sunsets and delicious food. With friendly service, wide variety of dishes and delicious wine, this restaurant makes a good rival to the King restaurant. Both are worth 15 minutes driving from the city of Makarska. You won’t be able to resist the astonishing service of cod fish, salmon, tuna tatar, sea bass, cuttlefish, anglerfish, calamari and also many delicious desserts. This restaurant serves vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes as well. Many Slavs, Scandinavians and Germans are permanent visitors.

Restaurant Naše Malo Misto in Gradac

Restaurant Naše Malo Misto in Gradac is 40 minutes ride away from Makarska and it is a perfect place to feel and explore other small places on Makarska Riviera. Situated in the peaceful and relaxing location with the view of the harbor, the restaurant is run by Radić family and has visitors that come back annually. This place literally doesn’t have one negative Facebook review given among approx. 70 people and very few negatives ones on TripAdvisor, among 150 reviews. Out of wide range of fish and seafood dishes such as gilt-head bream, mussels, salmon, shrimps, grilled squids, octopus salad, tuna steak, black rissoto etc., our recommendation is definitely a shark stake.

Even if you’re staying longer than five days relaxing along the Makarska Riviera coastline, we believe that these five place will be worth visiting and returning to as well. Remember that these advices all come from locals who also read most of other guests’ reviews and tried to offer the objective view with some personal details and recommendations. Makarska Nightlife: Top 5 places that might cause a long unforgettable hangover

Makarska nightlife is something worth mentioning and analyzing here. Nightlife on Makarska Riviera might be easily ranked among the world’s best nightlife destinations.

If you are enjoying on the Makarska Riviera, then the hangover is not the worst thing to handle when you can cure it properly at one of the most beautiful beaches that we have already mentioned.

We hereby offer You the instructions for the best night entertainment you could possibly imagine during your summer holiday in the beautiful Croatian south- on Makarska Riviera. However, we have to distance ourselves from everything that happens afterward.

Beach Bar Buba – Makarska

Beach Bar Buba, named after the acclaimed and glorified VW Buba car, is located right on the beach and might be number one place of Makarska nightlife and possibly – daylife. Located at the most beautiful beach, being far from the city’s bustle and close to the nudist beach. Waiters and bartenders serve guests with cocktails and drinks but do not be surprised if all of a sudden you get splashed by water from the pipe in the afternoon. These daily parties often include concerts of the best Croatian bands. Tired of lying on a towel? You prefer a drink instantly when you are still soaking wet? Paradise treatment with the best combination of hospitality and enchanted nature is right at your fingertips. Here you can enjoy beautiful sunsets or sunrises with Tequila Sunrise or other cocktails in hand. Dance the day away in the sea until the evening tide and great waves. Place your towel near the bar as you will definitely desire to stay until late at night (or early morning) ;).

Banana Bar – Podgora

Banana Bar is close to the town of Makarska. It is your ideal choice if you get bored with Makarska nightlife or you wish to explore the surroundings. Cocktails everywhere! More than 100 different cocktails to choose from! When Croats want to say they are doomed, they usually say they are “u banani”. However, this does not apply to Banana bar. On the contrary! You can only be doomed to the best summer fun ever! Since the opening, Banana bar had more than one million poured beers, over ten thousand coffees, and over 150 thousand cocktails. If these numbers did not buy you, what can eh? The bar is not far from the beautiful beach, so be sure to bring a towel with since you might stay until tomorrow morning, the best time for some morning swim. 🙂

Deep – Makarska

Deep is not just another club on the waterfront in Makarska. It’s is a cave. A real cave. And God bless the initial idea to turn it into a club. Hey, there were no bats at all, so it’s fine. Even if you’re not into clubbing that much, this is also a very romantic place where you can watch the sunrise while being surrounded by rocks. If you look for Deep on the Internet, you’ll see a lot of crazy, cool and colorful photos, but trust me, it is even better in reality! Yes, you have a little walk to make, but it’s totally worthy! Thank you nature, for giving us such a cool spot to dance our hearts out. Their website is being built at the moment, but you can look for more info and more than 150 reviews on TripAdvisor.

Marineta – Makarska

Marineta bar is in the center of Makarska. So if you’re walking with your girlfriend pass the restaurants and clubs, the one with the strongest energy and most visitors is – Marineta. You don’t have to walk a lot since the bar is close to the marine with a lot of parking possibilities. Yes, apparently, shisha is not their number one asset, but if you’re not into that, you can have great fun there! It’s crowded every day, not only on weekends. Cocktails and other drinks are at a very affordable price.

Makarana Bar – Makarska

Makarana Bar is a kind of – different bar. It plays international music outside and local inside. You’ll need to check it out if you want a local night out. The bar is crowded and reviews are high. It is not a very big place, but it has a vibrant atmosphere. You’ll love it if you want to try out something that you haven’t tried before. You won’t know the lyrics of the songs, but that has never guaranteed the perfect mood. For the locals from South Dalmatia and Herzegovina, this is an acclaimed spot in Makarska. If the photo isn’t appealing don’t know what is. 🙂

You could picture yourself on one of Makarska Riviera beaches next summer? Allow us to introduce to you our top 5! Fancy a wild beach where you can hide from everyone? Maybe you prefer plunging into the turquoise Adriatic Sea after an all-day partying? Would you rather rest on a gravel beach than to leave the traces of your feet in the grit? We believe that our top 5 beaches to visit on your summer holiday are everyone’s cup of tea! We strove to cover the needs and dreams of a perfect summer holiday. If you have time and desire to collect various experiences while on holiday we recommend heading for these beaches that are only one hour of driving apart.

Plaža Kabal (Gradac)

You seek for privacy, but still not too excessive? “Guarded” by the old desolated hotels, Kabal beach on Makarska Riviera may be ideal for you. This beach is far from the hustle and bustle of restaurants, hotels, cafes and jammed places near the seaside, but yet remote enough to find your piece of heaven. There’s a wide diversity of textures to lay your towel onto pebbles, sand, concrete and, natural rocks. Picking adjacent wild figs, olives, etc. makes the delight even greater. There is a place near the old hotel’s reception with freshwater spring beneath the sea where you can have extra refreshments.

Živogošće Velika Duba

Velika Duba lies in the real wild boondocks; between the villages of Živogošće Mala Duba and Živogošće Blato. After the hike through olive orchards, wild vineyards and fig trees follow the sudden surprise. Velika Duba is great for wilderness lovers and peace enthusiasts. The beach is filled with tiny pebbles that pave the way to a crystal clear sea (Don’t mind sea urchins, they withdrew to depths over the great interest for this beach). It is a pity to come here without the diving mask and a will to collect sea-shells, gemstones and abandoned sea urchins’ shells.

Plaža Nikolina (Baška Voda)

You are not the biggest fan of peace and isolation? You would rather have a go at a wide choice of contents offered during the summer holiday? Then, Nikolina beach is perfect for you! The sea is exceptional in quality and lucidity while the beach is convenient for families with children. You won’t lack gadgets on this beach as well as features (parasols, deck chairs, pedals, bars with cocktails and delights of wonderful sunsets). You descend towards the sea through the layers of white, green, turquoise color and/or deep blue if you are a good swimmer.

Nugal (Makarska)

To reach the Nugal beach, it is worth to wear sneakers. Before enjoyment on this beach that is inclined to nudists and naturalists, one should first take a long walk through the forest, grass, and rocks between Makarska and Tučepi. However, you will certainly feel the gratitude on this walk before resting undisturbed on the Nugal beach. If you are too mesmerized by the Osejava forest and you don’t get to the beach, there are plenty of spots to enjoy unforgettable sunsets. Beach Nugal is guarded by the great rocky cliffs, so separated from the civilization. It is desirable to bring snacks, cold drinks, and sun cream.

Punta Rata (Brela)

In 2004, Forbes magazine listed Punta Rata beach as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world. From then on, the beauty of this beach has only prospered. The winning combo of pebbles and sand is suitable for everyone; the pebbles for resting and the sand for the entrance into a clear crystal sea. Encompassed by dense and aromatic pine trees, Punta Rata is an absolute haven in shades perfect for a daily nap. As well as Nikolina beach, it is suitable for families with kids, party people, and gourmets – searchers for domestic fish specialties.
